A Concentration in Psychology and Law is offered for current UCI PhD students who wish to take part in a formalized supplemental training track in psychology and law. This intensive training track ensures that students (a) obtain rigorous training in psychology and law that covers fundamental issues in both fields, and (b) obtain recognition for the expertise that they gain in the program, which will benefit students’ later employment prospects.

The timing of when students must complete their psychology and law courses is very flexible. Students can take these courses either before or after their comprehensive examinations and advancement examinations.
The Concentration in Psychology and Law is obtained as an additional option in the doctoral program in the Department of Psychological Science (PSCI).
